Peristaltic Pumps

World Firsts from Environmental Pumping Solutions

TWICE the hose life & 50% Power saving over other Peristaltics & thats just for starters*

The LM (Low Maintenance) Enviroflex Series

Another World first from Environmental Pumping Solutions. With our Enviroflex LM Pump series you get all the benefits of our other peristaltic pumps, with the extra benefits of a much slower pump speed and rotating roller soft hose compression.

Pump hose life is directly related to pump rpm, so that if for example you run a pump at 15rpm you can expect twice the hose life of running the same pump at 30rpm. Size for size our LM pump has a longer contact length between roller and hose, creating a higher flowrate, which allows you to run the same size pump much slower, typically half speed for the same flowrate output as many of our competitors.

Couple this with the LM Series soft action rotating roller design for pump hose compression and these features combined provide you with a greatly increased hose life, with a dramatic reduction in motor power consumption.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - Rollers versus Fixed Shoe Design

The Good

With the LM pumps rotating roller design their is a soft compression of pump hose with very little drag friction. This constant rotation also helps to create a continual source of refreshment of lubricant on the hose face at the point of contact.

This light compressing action is bourne out by the fact that the roller design uses typically 50% less motor power than other pumps fitted with a fixed shoe design.

Here are some pictures to illustrate the differences in design:

Pump body materials include either heavy duty Polypropylene, Carbon or Stainless Steel

Peristaltic Pump Operating Principle

The LM range of Peristaltic Pumps operates on the peristaltic principle, which was patented some 75 years ago.

The technical classification for its pumping action is known as positive displacement. This means that a fixed and known amount of fluid is discharged per revolution of the pump with flow independent of discharge head.

Illustrated below is the pump action with a fixed shoe design. The pump action from our rotating roller design creates the same flow pattern as illustrated:

Our pump operates by compressing a specifically designed precision ground hose, between a set of typically two rotating rollers attached to a central rotor and the internal wall of the pump case or housing. Product to be pumped in the hose is pushed from the inlet side of the pump towards the discharge, by the squeezing or compressing motion of the rollers on the hose as it rotates.

Typical Applications

Our pumps are commonly referred to by industry in the following ways:

Peristaltic pumps
Peristaltic sludge pumps
Sludge pumps

Auto desludge pumps
Effluent pumps

As some of these terms describe our pumps are used commonly in the following applications

Waste Water treatment industry

Sludge pumps, Desludging, Metering pumps, Lime dosing, sewage/sewerage pumps

Chemical Industry

Viscous and/or abrasive sludges, corrosive chemical dosing or transfer, Sheer sensitive chemicals, general waste pumps

General Applications

Wherever you need a reliable pump that can be maintained easily and on site, our Peristaltic Pump fits the bill

Features and Benefits

  • Available in 11 different sizes that provide flow rates upto 146,000 L/h).
  • Will handle abrasive fluids since only the hose and hose inserts are in contact with the material being pumped.
  • Hose design allows applications where you need to pump aggressive and contaminated fluids. These can be processed without the devastating damage experienced by other pumping technologies.
  • Hoses are constructed with a choice of either Natural rubber, Buna, Hypalon and EPDM Foodgrade or Industrial rubber, to ensure suitability for your applications.
  • Pump design provides high levels of volumetric accuracy for sampling, transfer and metering applications.
  • Ability to pass solids in the material being pumped.
  • Dry-run capability allows tank and line stripping.
  • Seal-less design eliminates leaks, contamination and wear problems associated with difficult to seal products.
  • Self-priming up to 29.5 feet (9 meters).
  • Reversible operation allows pumping in both directions.
  • Pump casings for durable construction include materials such as Heavy duty Polypropylene, carbon and stainless steel allowing higher discharge pressures up to 217 psi (15 bar).
